*Rescheduled due to snow!!* Let the Story Warm You: An Evening Prose Reading with Marydell – Friday February 6, 2026, 7pm at Marydell, Nyack (Dining Hall)

Join All Ways Writing in collaboration with Marydell Faith & Life Center for a cozy afternoon of prose readings, featuring a curated selection of nine local writers. Hosted by Lily Greenberg, the readers include Ellyn Hament, Christina Leaño, Bridget McFadden, Emilya Naymark, Alex Russo, Fredric Sinclair, Collin Stephens, Jessica Wahlstrom, and Zaneta. The readers will present short pieces in groups of three, with brief Q&A’s to punctuate each group. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public, the reading will take place in the Marydell Dining Hall; guests are encouraged to park at Gate 3.

How to Read a Book (Of Poetry) Session 5 with Big Red Books featuring Music for the Dead and Resurrected by Valzhyna Mort – Wednesday April 22, 2026, 6:30pm at Big Red Books, Nyack

Join All Ways Writing Collective and Big Red Books for the fourth installment of our How to Read a Book (Of Poetry) series in which we read aloud award-winning collections of poetry using intuitive forms of engagement. Facilitated by Lily Greenberg, this is a great event if you feel like you don’t “get” poetry and would be interested in experiencing poems in a new way; also great if you’re already a poetry fan and want to experience poems in community.

Admission is the cost of our chosen book at 15% off, or similar if you already own the book and wish to purchase something else. 12 books are available on a first come, first served basis.

An Evening of Poetry featuring Valzhyna Mort and Samyak Shertok – Saturday April 25, 2026, 7pm at Big Red Books, Nyack

Join All Ways Writing in partnership with Big Red Books for an evening of poetry featuring renowned poets Valzhyna Mort and Samyak Shertok.

Valzhyna Mort is a poet and translator born in Minsk, Belarus. She is the author of three poetry collections, Factory of Tears (Copper Canyon Press, 2008), Collected Body (Copper Canyon Press, 2011) and, mostly recently, Music for the Dead and Resurrected (FSG, 2020), named one of the best poetry book of 2020 by The New York Times and The NPR, and the winner of the 2020 International Griffin Poetry Prize and the 2022 UNT Rilke Prize. She teaches at Cornell University

Samyak Shertok’s debut collection, No Rhododendron (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2025), was selected by Kimiko Hahn for the 2024 AWP Donald Hall Prize for Poetry and longlisted for the 2026 PEN Open Book Award. Originally from Nepal, he is an Assistant Professor of English at Mississippi State University.
